Clean bill of health for Reds

The Reds were given a boost on Friday ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday with the news that Gary Neville and Cristiano Ronaldo are both fit despite both players suffering injuries against Blackburn last weekend.

Sir Alex Ferguson reported a clean bill of health as the Reds resume Premiership duties against newly-promoted Sheffield United.

Reds skipper Gary Neville came off against Blackburn suffering from the same calf injury that has plagued him for months. But he has suffered no further reaction after a week without a game - he missed England's friendly stalemate with Holland.

Ronaldo, who substituted late on against Rovers, will also be available for selection after he picked up an ankle knock last time out for United.

Sir Alex is expected to name an unchanged side for the third game in succession
