Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with speeding

Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with speeding, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The Manchester United and Portugal winger was photographed by a speed camera on the A5103 Princess Parkway in Manchester last year.

Ronaldo is accused of driving with excessive speed close to the junction with Mauldeth Road West at around 10.30pm on July 16.

The CPS said his case was listed to be heard at Manchester City Magistrates Court on Tuesday February 6.

A spokesman said: "Cristiano Ronaldo Aveiro has been charged with driving exceeding the speed limit."

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said they were not aware of the case, but would not routinely be informed of all speed camera cases. Posted by Picasa
