Beaten up for eyeing Ronaldo

A JEALOUS football fan attacked his lover with a baseball bat for eyeing up Cristiano Ronaldo.

Shaun Coleman, 23, hit out after Gemma Marcarian saw the Portuguese ace in the World Cup on TV and cooed: “Who’s he? He’s gorgeous!”

Coleman stormed out in a jealous rage but returned home armed after a three-hour drinking spree, a court heard. Prosecutor Richard Cole said: “He hit her so hard that the wooden bat split in two places. She was struck nine times, leaving injuries to her head, body and legs.”

At the time of the attack, 21-year-old Gemma’s son, five, was sleeping at their home in Cwmbran, South Wales, Newport Crown Court heard.

Coleman, of Porth, Rhondda, got 18 months’ jail after admitting ABH. Gemma said: “I really thought I was going to die.”
